5 Life changing OUTCOmes of Summer Vacation - 2020

UNLOCK 1
was announced in the first week of June,2020 and kids online classes too went offline for 15 days. Huge excitement was built up in us by thinking again and again how to rejuvenate ourselves. How to break monotony?
This question never arrived in early years.

Summer vacation plans used to be crafted just after final exams in March. There were unlimited places to explore whether in India or overseas. But, this was special summer vacations, kids were at home from last 3.5 months and has insatiable thirst to move out and thrill.

Sometimes, we forget that we have immense power within us. You must have heard about God HANUMAN's inner power story. Hanuman was not aware about his inner potential, he was reminded to look back, introspect and explore the hidden power in him that he can FLY and cross the BIG OCEAN with ease

Similar was our case, we never knew all those past years that we have a GREAT PLACE to visit during SUMMER VACATIONS - 2020. We initiated our journey to this place by putting our bags in CAR. To see a family moving out with bags having smile and excitement on face is a rare phenomenon nowadays during COVID-19 season.

Hence, one of my friend asked, where are you going? I said, out of station for celebrating summer vacations. Her immediate question with surprise & hope on her face was, Are Hotels open?, Don't you feel it is risky to visit tourist places.

THAT WAS THE MOMENT, I felt that I am very lucky, I have my VILLAGE, farms, people having unconditional love to shower on me and my kids eagerly waiting for me.

VILLAGE - our ROOTS is what we have FORGOTTEN all our last years. Today, my VILLAGE is giving me a feeling how fortunate I am and my kids who have a place to visit, own & stay. It is home sweet home for us.

There are many virtual SUMMER CAMPS organised during that time but our was very special. This summer camp was REAL full of love, compassion & close to nature  with great learning's.

5 OUTCOMEs of Summer Vacation 2020

  1. LOVE
We should never forget VILLAGE - our Root. It creates our identity.
When my kids met the neighbours along with extended family members ( Nana-Nani-Chacha-Chachi-Mausa-Mausi-Bua-Foofa-Didi-Bhaiya & cousions) they were showered with pure LOVE. Kids understood the whole village is OUR FAMILY.

Everyone, no matter sitting in the house or outside the house used to call and ask our wellness as if they know my kids from birth. This magical feeling has pressed them to understand the meaning of LOVE, which they never have felt in cities.

2.    SIMPLICITY

My two kids, one is 9 & other 17 years (Generation Z kid) felt, got astonished & later accepted the lifestyle of INNOCENCE & SIMPLICITY. People used to speak their heart. They were not wearing branded clothes but yet they were very HAPPY. In the evening, when we used to sit on our roof, the kids of neighborhood played simple games and used to laugh, cherish and were out of the world. Roofs were connected in villages. My kids learnt to move from one roof to another & play with them, without judging their status & played games. My kids were able to imbibe that there is a world without gadgets also which is REAL & HAPPY. They enjoyed.

3.    LABORIOUS & SMART

Not only elders, but village kids wake up before sunrise. There was a girl next door of age 12-13 years who used to wake up at 5 am. She used to clean her house & the place where cattle used to live. She used to prepare food by 8 am. After so much work also she used to be full of smile always.

Her brother of age 15 years was highly skilled in electric work since his father was electrician. He knew the work of battery making ( understands acids, bases, ions etc.)  since he used to do hands on.  His elder brother was studying in AMU and was preparing for IAS.

The village has PhDs from AMU and were full of simplicity & felt pride in doing small household/farm chores. Village is full of talent, they have great COMMON SENSE which we living in city have forgotten to use. They have great SQ ( Spiritual & Social Quotient). Definitely, their EQ (Emotional Quotient) is far better than us. They even understand the emotions of ANIMALS (Cattle). My kids till then understood, the villagers are far more successful & happy than us.

4.    ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS

Each farmer is an entrepreneur. He uses all the skills of planning, organising, controlling, doing, decision making, selling, using machines, employee management and making money with HONESTY.

Our Mango Orchards are given to care taker. How the care takers are taking care of the fields and how the owner takes care of the care takers is a superb learning. Without having any attendance scanner, everything runs on BELIEF, FAITH, LOVE & RESPECT for each other. My kids saw how the caretaker's whole family was involved happily in making the BUSINESS successful.

5.    FUN WITH NATURE

My kids had a gala time with NATURE. They climbed branches of mango tree like monkeys. They helped the care taker in plucking raw mangoes for selling.

The touched, felt all types of leaves. They saw and took the fragrance of vegetables like lady finger, brinjal, tomatoes, ridge gourd, lemons, chillies, cucumber etc.

They met cows, buffaloes, ox, goats and generated the feeling of COMPASSION. Their morning's wake up ALARM was PEACOCK's melodious voice along with birds chirping.

The BEST FUN activity was SWIMMING in the POOL of water by TUBEWELL. The water was as cool as Ganga water full of freshness & cleanliness. They also saw canals whose water is used in irrigating fields.

They also saw the big leaf of vegetable ARBI (TARO ROOT) which are also used as vegetables. They saw a fruit of Indian Fig Tree, which has many small insects in it. They touched cow dung hill and took out husk for animals. They sat on bullock cart. They made toys from clay brought from pond.

Me along with my kids experienced NATURE very closely to LEARN & REJUVENATE.

Last but not least, the trip was a great learning experience and one day weather made it more beautiful than any European place.

It is greatly advised, to connect the kids and even yourself with roots for learning LIFE SKILLS. It will be LIFE CHANGING experience full of fun filled, value based applied learning.
